A charity running event which traditionally thousands of people train for has been postponed until next year because of a lack of participants.
The British Heart Foundation was due to host its Half Marathon and 10k (6.2 miles) at Blenheim Palace on October 9.
But they will now not take place because of "unforeseen circumstances posed by event stakeholders", the charity said.
It said refunds are available for people unable to attend in 2023.
Anna McCaughley, Head of Events at the British Heart Foundation (BHF), explained: “Unfortunately, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel the Blenheim Palace Run 2022.
“The BHF assess each of our events, looking at the costs to deliver them against the money we receive in fundraising.
"We must ensure any event we run will help fund our research to help save and improve the lives of the 7.6 million people living with heart and circulatory disease.
"Due to a lower-than-expected number of participants, this event sadly would not have been cost effective.
“We plan to return bigger and better next year, and anyone who had signed up for this year’s event will have their registration automatically transferred to next year.
"We want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who signed up to this year’s event and apologise to them for any inconvenience or upset this may have caused.”
The date for next year's event has not been confirmed.
In 2017 thousands of runners lined up to take part in the races.
Inspired by family members, friends or even colleagues 4,500 people entered the event.
The 10k run, and a 2k family fun run, were also held later on in the palace's grounds to encourage as many people to take part.
Organisers predicted they had raised £250,000 for the charity.
Heather Carter, Operations Director at Blenheim, said: "We are sorry that this year’s British Heart Foundation Half Marathon has been postponed. We have worked with the organisers to reschedule to 2023 and they have contacted people who have entered directly.
"We have been happy to support this event over the last 11 years and will continue to do so in the future."
