Three people were cut free from their vehicles after a horror crash on the A415 in Oxfordshire.
Emergency services were called to the crash near Standlake at around 6:22pm as officers closed the road in both directions.
Fire crews from Witney Fire Station and Abingdon Fire Station used hydraulic cutting equipment to rescue three people who were trapped in their vehicles.
The two vehicles were heavily damaged in the incident with fragments falling across the road.
The people who were injured were then treated by paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service.
An Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "On arrival firefighters were faced with three people trapped and worked alongside our colleagues from Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service to safely extricate them using hydraulic cutting equipment.
"The road has remained closed for now whilst investigations take place and the vehicles are recovered.
"The road is expected to open later this morning."
Oxfordshire County Council's traffic management team, Oxon Travel has since reported the road has been cleared with traffic moving freely.
