The headteacher of a Finstock school said she is "immensely proud" after her school received an "Outstanding" rating in every category following a recent Ofsted inspection.

Finstock Church of England Primary School, near Chipping Norton and part of the Witney-based MILL Academy Trust, including Queen Emma’s Primary School and The Henry Box School, celebrated the acknowledgement of their dedication and hard work.

Ofsted’s report offered substantial praise of the school's educational quality, lauding their teaching and learning standards.

It read: "Children receive a tremendous start to their educational journey in early years.

"The curriculum is skilfully designed to develop children’s language and communication."

Inspectors applauded the success of engaging teaching methods, which cater to students, creating an inclusive learning atmosphere: "Learning tasks are carefully managed so that children experience the full ambition of the curriculum.

"Staff ensure carefully crafted activities ignite children’s enjoyment when learning new concepts."

"Ambitious vocabulary is promoted to extend children’s use of language.”

The report also praised pupils' progress across all year groups.

Ofsted recognised the effective leadership within the school, saying: "Leaders are highly ambitious for all pupils, staff and the community that they serve."

The report acknowledged the collective efforts of the leadership team to uphold high standards: "Staff value the collaborative working within the trust schools which supports their teaching."

The school was also praised for turning its children into good citizens. It said: "Pupils are well prepared for life beyond Finstock.

"They have a strong sense of justice and have a deep-rooted understanding of fundamental British values."

"Pupils are tolerant and respectful and welcome everyone to their school.”

Furthermore, the school was commended for its broad spectrum of enriching extra-curricular activities, contributing significantly to the all-round development of students.

The report said: “The school provides many opportunities for pupils to support local community initiatives and charities. For example, pupils contributed to a village campaign to reduce speed limits and to raise money for a hedgehog welfare organisation.

"They also look beyond the village to celebrate other cultures and countries, such as Japan.”

Finstock Church of England Primary School said it "looks forward to continuing its mission of providing an inspirational education for every child".
