TRIBUTES have been paid to an 18-year-old man killed in a motorbike crash in Witney.

The rider was thrown off his black and yellow Suzuki into a hedgerow while travelling along the Thorney Leys ring road towards the A415 at about 7pm on Sunday, a police spokesman said.

Yesterday, tributes at the scene and on Facebook named the man as former Henry Box School student Mark Trinder.

The rider, who was from the town, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dozens of floral tributes were left at the roadside.

Friend Kirk Drinkwater paid tribute by writing a note on a brick to the teenager.

The note said: “R.I.P Mark Trinder.

“Definition of hench.

“Lots of love brother.”

A tribute attached to a bouquet of flowers said: “R.I.P you will never be forgotten.

“You’re in a better place where you can’t get hurt again. You will be missed by so many, with love Emily.”

Thorney Leys Road was closed until about 10pm on Sunday to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.

No other vehicles were involved.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or has any other information to call Pc Matt Booker on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
