Rachel Masser continued her strong recent form with victory in the Oxford Town and Gown 10K.

The 40-year-old Woodstock Harriers athlete clocked a gun time of 38mins 24secs to finish 54th overall.

Masser powered home in windy conditions, beating runner-up Emma Hodson (Oxford University) by 57 seconds.

This followed up last month’s victories in the Hur-stbourne 5 and Compton 20, plus a second pace in the White Horse Half Marathon.

Meanwhile, Witney Road Runners’ Josh Ridley finished third in the Leeds Half Marathon.

The Leeds University student recorded a personal best time of 1hr 14mins 8secs for the 13.1-mile distance.

Steve Naylor added another course record to his collection with victory in the Sri-Chinmoy Self Transcendence three-mile race at Cutteslowe Park.

The 35-year-old Bedford & County athlete, from Cassington, said: “I ran 14mins 52secs in near enough cross country conditions. There was an unreal storm.”
