Minster Lovell Cricket Club’s Martyn Cross has received a top award for his coaching skills from former England spinner Ashley Giles.
Cross, who got involved in coaching more than 20 years ago after a knee injury cut short his playing career, is now the holder of an ECB Outstanding Contribution award.
Cross steered the first team to third in OCA League Division 1 and victory against Broughton in the Ernie Clack Trophy final.
Thanks to Cross, the club attracts 156 boys aged from under eight to under 17.
He has run under 11s for nine years.
