SHIPTON-UNDER-WYCHWOOD ended Thame Town’s good return to the league with a comfortable six-wicket victory in Division 2 on Saturday.
Visitors Thame started well after being put in to bat.
But Shipton skipper Charlie Brain, with two wickets, initiated a collapse which included the run-out of Will Taylor for a duck.
When Thame skipper Mike Higgs was out for 58 made off 100 balls, the visitors were struggling at 97-5.
With veteran left-arm spinner Shaun Miller (3-32) causing problems, only Honey Garg, with 42 off 63 balls, resisted as Thame were dismissed for 176.
Joe Barrett set Shipton’s reply off to a sparkling start with 43 off 47 balls.
His opening partner Andrew Hemming played the anchor role with an unbeaten 63 to see Shipton home to a comfortable success in the 38th over.
