WITNEY could not hang on to an early lead as they went down 34-22 away to Windsor in their South west 1 East contest
The west Oxfordshire side opened up a 12-0 lead, thanks to tries from Charlie Dyde and Sam Collins, the latter being converted by Matt Clarke.
Windsor bounced back to make it 13-12 after Matt Balmer’s try and two Harry Woolmar penalties.
Witney replied when Scott Mortimer crossed, but the hosts led 20-17 after Balmer scored his second try.
Ben Grant-Adamson and Witney’s Collins traded tries, before Richie Craig was sin-binned for the visitors.
Collins was also yellow-carded as Windsor were awarded a penalty try, which Woolmar converted.
