TYLER Goodrham is aiming to hit double figures for goals in an Oxford United shirt by the end of the season.

The 20-year-old winger grabbed a brace in the 2-1 win at home to Charlton Athletic, taking his total to three goals in two games.

During the previous campaign, Goodrham netted four times in 44 appearances across all competitions.

After making a rapid start this season, the U’s academy graduate is targeting double figures come the end of April.

Speaking after his match-winning brace against the Addicks, Goodrham said: “On a personal note, it’s really positive for me but as a collective and as a group, it’s really positive to get four wins on the bounce.

“The atmosphere is so good inside and the gaffer’s so good with us in terms of keeping us at the level.

“We know not to take our foot off the gas and that we’ve got a long season ahead.

“He’s [head coach Liam Manning] been so good with me in bringing me in and helping me develop my individual game, and helping me get myself into positions where I can score.

“I just want to build on that, and try and hit double figures.”

Goodrham, who has started three of the first five games for United in Sky Bet League One, acknowledged he faces fierce competition for a starting place in the wide berths this season.

He said: “Every day is a battle because you’re competing with each other but also trying to get the best out of each other.

“That’s the best thing about this group. Everyone pushes each other and we know there’s no room for complacency, otherwise one week you’ll be in the squad and the next, someone else is coming in and playing.

“I think that’s a real positive for us because we know there’s always that competition, and hunger and fight for places.”
