OXFORD United Women won their first three points of the season with a 4-0 victory at home to Chatham Town.

All four goals were scored in the first half as the U’s blew away their opponents with strikes from Zoe Barratt, Leah Burridge, Izzy Cook and Sarah King.

Barratt has made a fast start to life at United after joining from MK Dons in the summer and with six minutes on the clock, she picked the ball up on the edge of the box and crashed a shot into the roof of the net.

Burridge doubled the lead minutes later after King’s cross was spilt by Cara Davies, with the U’s captain tapping home from close range.

Just before the half hour mark, Cook drove to the edge of the area and drilled a low effort into the bottom left corner.

With five minutes to go until half-time, Barratt’s deflected shot fell to the feet of King, who tapped in United’s fourth.

Cook was then denied by a fantastic piece of goalkeeping from Davies, before Burridge flicked a header inches wide.

The second half was a quieter one, although the U’s were denied a fifth goal from the penalty spot.

Davies’ loose touch was pounced on by Barratt, with the goalkeeper tripping the former Dons forward.

Davies made amends though by diving to her left and holding onto Barratt’s tame effort.
