THE Oxford Mail player ratings after Oxford United came away from Stevenage with a 3-1 victory in Sky Bet League One.

JAMES BEADLE

Made a couple of solid stops and could do little about the goal. BOOKED – 7.5

SAM LONG

Beaten for pace by Kane Hemmings in the lead-up to the Stevenage opener but he then recovered well – 7

ELLIOTT MOORE

What a way to celebrate a new contract. The U’s skipper made a superb goal line clearance at 0-0, won countless headers throughout and then popped up with a headed goal to seal the points. BOOKED. MAN OF THE MATCH – 8.5

CIARON BROWN

One stray pass nearly let Stevenage in, but he was otherwise strong in the three-man defence – 7

FIN STEVENS

Saw one header go over the crossbar and was comfortable in the wing back role – 7.5

MARCUS MCGUANE

Kept things ticking over in the engine room with another good performance – 7.5

CAMERON BRANNAGAN

A few deliveries from set pieces caused problems for the home side’s defence – 7.5

GREG LEIGH

A brilliant display from the birthday boy, who was busy at both ends of the pitch. The strike for his second goal was a special one – 8.5

Full as running as ever, working hard for the team from advanced position high up the pitch – 7

Has done well up front during Mark Harris’ suspension but spurned a glorious one-on-one chance two minutes into the second half – 7
