FIN Stevens captained Wales Under-21s as they remain unbeaten in their hopes of qualifying for the 2025 European Championships.

Wales top Group I with two wins and two draws, their latest victory coming in a 1-0 win at home to Iceland.

Wycombe Wanderers centre back Joe Low scored the only goal of the game with a header shortly before the half hour mark.

Port Vale loanee Josh Thomas was sent off midway through the second period, however Wales held on.

The side is next in action on Monday when they welcome another unbeaten team in Denmark.

While Oxford United right back Stevens enjoyed a memorable evening, his U’s colleague James Beadle fared worse off with England’s Elite League Squad, what was formerly the Under-20s.

England were beaten 3-0 by Italy at Doncaster Rovers’ Keepmoat Stadium.

Italian captain Luis Hasa was put through on goal and put the ball past a diving Beadle to give his side the lead eight minutes before the break.

Italy then sealed the win in the closing stages, with substitute Filippo Missori heading home a cross, before winning a penalty just two minutes later.

Hasa stepped up and grabbed his brace by sending Beadle the wrong way from 12 yards.

The Young Lions travel to Germany for their next game on Monday evening.
