BANBURY United suffered a second league defeat in three as they fell to a 1-0 loss at home to Curzon Ashton.

Hayden Campbell scored the only goal of the game shortly after the 90th minute.

The Puritans were at that point down to 10 men after Oxford United loanee Aidan Elliott-Wheeler was shown a second yellow card with 80 minutes on the clock.

Mark Jones’ side now sit 18th in Vanarama National League North, three points above the relegation zone.

Didcot Town, bottom of Southern League Premier South, are now nine points inside the bottom four after a goalless draw at high-flying Gosport Borough.

In Southern League Central Division, second-placed North Leigh edged their top of the table clash at home to third-placed Waltham Abbey.

Lance Williams scored the only goal of the game with eight minutes to go.

Elsewhere, Kidlington were beaten 1-0 at Leighton Town, while Thame United moved off the bottom with a 1-0 win at home to Biggleswade Town.

Eitel Gouteh netted from outside the box as the Red Kites claimed just their second league win of the season.
