Oxford United will seemingly rule out building a temporary fourth stand at the Kassam Stadium if they maintain their Sky Bet Championship status.
After promotion from League One last season, the club explored the possibility of constructing a fourth stand, but it was eventually ruled out.
U’s chief executive Tim Williams said in July that ‘both operationally and financially, this simply isn’t something we can take forward at this current time, but it will remain under review’.

Williams reiterated that message, and told BBC Radio Oxford’s The Dub podcast on the potential for a fourth stand: “I would love there to be, but we did an awful lot of work last summer on this, and I think we determined last summer we would make losses and lose money by doing it.
“We will dust down that document and see it what it looks like this summer, but it wouldn’t be right if I raised expectations that that’s going to happen.
“To do something which is such a significant project over the summer when there is equally everything else to do, say making sure the training ground works and making sure we’ve got that fully back up and running and operational.
“We have an awful lot of infrastructure projects already on the go. To then do one which is potentially loss-making straight away is going to be a hard sell I’m afraid.”
