BUSINESS and civic leaders have banded together to help organisations have a greater say in the economy of the Vale of White Horse.

Vale4Business aims to bring major firms in the district into direct contact with Vale of White Horse District Council to work on issues such as removing barriers to expansion, securing inward investment and promoting the area as a world class location in which to work and live.

Organisations already signed up include fuel additives firm Infineum UK, Abingdon & Witney College, Four Pillars Hotels, Oxford Innovation and parcel delivery specialist Bybox.

Infineum UK country manager Martin Dare-Edwards said: “There has been a Bicester Vision group for some years and we wanted something similar in the Vale, as the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) does not have a representative from the area.

“The Enterprise Zone falls inside the district but we are about more than that.

“The aim is to stake a claim for a seat on the LEP by having a proper business voice.”
