THE Carducci String Quartet will give their first performance at a Lenthall Concert next Wednesday at Burford School.
The Gloucestershire-based quartet, made up of two married couples, violinist Matthew Denton and cellist Emma Denton, and viola player Eoin Schmidt-Marton and violinist Michelle Fleming, has won a number of international contests, including the 2007 Concert Artists Guild International Competition in the US and first prize at Finland’s Kuhmo International Chamber Music Competition.
Their programme for the concert features Haydn’s string quartet in F minor, opus No 5, Britten’s Three Divertimenti and Beethoven’s string quartet in A minor, opus 132.
The concert starts at 7.30pm at the school, off Cheltenham Road.
