TWO men have appeared in court on manslaughter charges after the death of an Oxford woman from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Peter Woelki, 52, of Poplar Grove, Kennington, and Christopher Jilbert, 50, of Bayswater Farm Road, Headington, Oxford, appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court today.

Both were bailed to appear at Oxford Crown Court on January 4 for a preliminary hearing.

Angela Pinkney, 35, died at her bedroom in Mandlebrote Road in Littlemore, Oxford, on March 17, 2005.

An inquest last year at Oxford Coroner's Court into the death heard British Gas was called out ten times to the house and left the boiler leaking the day before the woman's death.

The inquest also heard that there was no record of any tests done on the safety of the boiler on any of the visits.

The coroner Dr Richard Whittington gave a verdict of misadventure.

Miss Pinkney was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with serious symptoms on March 16, 2005 but was allowed to return home.

The following morning she was discovered collapsed in her bedroom.
