Prime Minister at the panto? Oh yes he was
9:30am Monday 31st December 2012 in News
PRIME Minister David Cameron took a break from the “trials and tribulations” of Government when he took his family to see a Chipping Norton pantomime.
The Witney MP went to see Cinderella at Chipping Norton Theatre on Saturday afternoon, and met cast members backstage after the performance.
Show director John Terry said Mr Cameron had enjoyed the show and congratulated the cast afterwards.
He said: “We are extremely pleased to once again welcome the Prime Minister and his family.
“This year’s production of Cinderella transports the audience to the canals and carnivals of Venice. Hopefully this will provide a welcome little holiday to the trials and tribulations of running the country.”
The theatre is celebrating 40 years of pantomime in the town this year. The show will run at the Spring Street venue until January 6.
The weekend before, Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, who lives near the town, watched the show with her family.
