THE BISHOP of Oxford wiped the floor with the Bishop of Buckingham in a contest to judge their baking skills.
The Rt Rev John Pritchard wasn’t loafing around, but he kneaded a little help from his assistant and chaplain, the Rev Dr Amanda Bloor to defeat the Rt Rev Alan Wilson.
The baking bishops did battle at the Marlborough School last Thursday to promote Christian Aid Week.
Bishop John said: “Bread is such a simple staple food for us, but for many people even the basics are in short supply leaving people hungry day after day.”
Thousands of Christian Aid supporters across Oxfordshire, Berks and Bucks are expected to take part in collections and fundraising events during Christian Aid Week next week, with the aims of raising £500,000.
