CHARLIE Courtney and brown spaniel Molly, a working diabetes alert dog, enjoyed the long jump contest at a Medical Detection Dogs Fun Day in Carterton.

The event, staged in conjunction with the bank holiday Save the Children fair at the Alvescot Road recreation ground, raised almost £300.

The money will go to Medical Detection Dogs to train more life-saving dogs like Molly.

The next event being staged by the charity’s Oxfordshire support group is the Nose in the Park treasure hunt at Hailey, on Sunday, July 7.
