FILMS will be screened at five venues free of charge for the fifth year of the Witney Film Festival.

Starting on Monday, a late-night screening event will be held at Fat Lil’s, in Corn Street, from 8.30pm, filled with monsters, zombies and penguin suits.

Student short films will be shown the following night at Abingdon & Witney College’s campus in Holloway Road, featuring the work of students on BTEC courses.

Bafta-nominated film Submarine will be screened at The Blue Boar on Wednesday. The film was directed by The IT Crowd actor Richard Ayoade.

Two lost episodes of TV sci-fi drama Dr Who from 1967 are to be shown on Thursday.

The week will finish at the Langdale Hall on Friday evening with a Shorts Finale of the Best of the Best and where visitors can meet and discuss the films with some of the filmmakers.
