YOUNGSTERS from Charlbury Primary School are building a bright future after winning an engineering competition.
Year Six pupils Mitch Ward and Ben Shawcross, both 10, designed and built a working model of a crane out of the constructon toy K’nex.
The youngsters said they were thrilled to beat more than 600 others for the Science Oxford and Babcock Education contest. Science Oxford ran workshops at 18 primary schools across the county to help pupils develop their engineering ideas.
Mitch said: “It’s been a pleasure working with a partner so talented and enthusiastic.”
The two boys won a K’Nex computer kit, worth £500 and capable of programming five different models, for their school.
