A MAN in his 20s was rushed to hospital after a fight at the Red Lion pub in Witney.
The brawl broke out shortly after midnight on Saturday.
Police and ambulance crews were called at 12.34am to reports that a man has been seriously assaulted and had suffered serious injuries to his head and body.
The man was taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital where he was still being treated for his injuries yesterday.
South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman Gill Hodgetts said: “We were called at 12.25am to a male in his 20s with head injuries. We responded by sending one ambulance and one rapid response vehicle, and the man was taken to the John Radcliffe.”
Det Insp Steve Raffield of Witney police station said: “This assault took place in the busy pub, which left a man in a serious condition and so we would urge anyone who has any information about this incident and who has not already given information to the police to contact us.”
