OXFORD MAGISTRATES

  • Bridget McDonagh, 32, of Waynflete Road, Headington, Oxford, admitted stealing clothing worth £29.99 from Sports Direct in West Way, Oxford, on November 18. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
  • Amy Amin, 26, of Churchill Drive, Headington, admitted drink driving on the A40 near Cassington on December 30. Had 145 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Community order made with 180 hours of unpaid work and told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Also given a 36-month driving ban.
  • Callum Evans, 19, of Wick Green, Grove, near Wantage, admitted assault in the Shush nightclub in Newbury Street, Wantage, on December 14. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £50 compensation and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

BANBURY MAGISTRATES

  • Arron Wheddon, 25, of Middleton Road, Banbury, admitted receiving stolen goods in Banbury between December 14 and December 15. He received electrical items worth £909.98 which belonged to Sibford School. Fined £262 and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £27 and £85 in costs.
  • Saydul Islam, 38, of Lyon Close, Oxford, admitted driving when he was disqualified in Florence Park Road on November 27. Also admitted driving without insurance for the same incident. Given a 12-month driving ban and 26-week jail sentence suspended for two years. Also ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £80 and £85 in costs.
  • Emma Lewis, 30, of Cherry Close, Oxford, was convicted of failing to keep her dog under proper control on June 26 when ordered to by the court. The dog, an American pitbull terrier called Layla, will be destroyed.
  • Sam Alvarez, 19, of Sinclair Avenue, Banbury, admitted stealing a bicycle worth £369.98 at Banbury Rail Station on June 19. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £369.98 in compensation. Ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £350 in costs.
  • Thomas Gardner, 25, of Elmhurst Way, Carterton, admitted using threatening words or behaviour that was likely to cause harassment or alarm in Corn Street, Witney on January 18. Fined £105 and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20 and £85 in costs.
  • Andrew Marshall, 30, of Farnborough Road, Mollington, admitted stealing three fragrance gift sets worth £136 from Boots in Banbury Cross Retail Park on January 28. Also admitted stealing wine worth £68.94 from Tesco Express in Banbury High Street on January 18. Given a 12-month community order to have drug rehabilitation treatment and ordered to pay a total of £204.94 in compensation.
  • Joshua Taylor, 23, of High Street, Witney, admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour that was likely to cause harassment or alarm in Witney on December 14. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20 and £85 in costs.
  • Vincenzo Orlando, 62, of Millfield Avenue, Bicester admitted driving in Launton Road, Bicester on June 30 with eyesight that did not comply with legal requirements. Given three points on his driving record and fined £100. Ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20.
  • Paul Charlton, 47, of Mallard Drive, Witney admitted assault by beating in Witney on December 12. Given a community supervision order and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £60 and £40 in costs.
  • Matthew Buckley, 25, of Bracken Close, Carterton admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause fear of violence in Witney on January 18. Given a community order with a 14-day curfew between 7pm and 6am. Also ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Caroline Paternoster, 37, of Miller Road, Banbury admitted stealing £116.86 worth of items from Poundstretcher at Banbury Cross Retail Park on January 19. Given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £25 costs.
  • Troy Paternoster, 46, of Miller Road, Banbury admitted stealing £116.86 worth of items from Poundstretcher at Banbury Cross Retail Park on January 19. Also admitted driving in Lockheed Close, Banbury on January 19 without a licence or insurance. Given a two-year discharge, fined £300, ordered to pay a £30 victims’ surcharge and a £25 costs. Driving record endorsed with six points.
  • Terence Neilly, 46, of Windrush, Banbury admitted drink driving in Bretch Hill, Banbury on November 25. Had 89 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath over the legal limit of 35mg. Also admitted driving without insurance on the same date and failing to surrender to custody at Banbury Magistrates’ Court on December 10. Banned from holding a driving licence for 46 months, and ordered to have alcohol dependency treatment for six months. Fined £300 and ordered to pay a £30 victims’ surcharge and £25 costs.
