A motorist accused of causing the death of a pensioner in a five-car pile up on the A34 has been released on bail until later this month.
Claudiu-Ioan Almasan appeared at Banbury Magistrates’ Court on Thursday last week charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving.
The charge relates to an incident on the dual-carriageway where a Renault truck, a Nissan Note, a Vauxhall Corsa, and a Renault Scenic collided in July.
The Nissan Note left the road and a 70-year-old woman from Huntingdon who was driving the car was declared dead at the scene.
A Citroen Picasso was also damaged.
Almasan, 45 of Leighton Buzzard Road, Hemel Hempstead, was bailed to appear at Oxford Crown Court on October 23.
