An Oxfordshire hotel has been named as one of the top 100 hotels in the world.

Travel & Leisure, a global magazine which is over 50 years old, released its list of the top 100 hotels across the world on Thursday, April 18.

Several obvious tourist hotspot cities were named among the chosen few including Château des Fleurs in Paris and Fontainebleau in Las Vegas.

Yet one somewhat surprising entry in the magazine’s ‘It List 2024’ was a hotel nestled right here in the heart of Oxfordshire.

Estelle Manor is near North Leigh with its original house dating back to the 1770s, covering a whopping 60 acres in total.

The Grade II Listed property includes 108 hotel rooms as well as four restaurants, tennis courts and a gym.

“Don’t let the stately Jacobean facade fool you: There’s nothing stuffy about Estelle Manor, a 60-acre estate in the green pastures of Oxfordshire,” reads the Travel & Leisure article entry.

“A country offshoot of the U.K. capital’s private club Maison Estelle, the resort is all Roaring Twenties, devil-may-care razzle-dazzle.

“It all feels cinematic and delightfully British, including the way the house car, a Land Rover, clatters over the pebbles of the tree-lined drive.

“The 108 guest rooms are outfitted in a flamboyantly aristocratic style: tasselled pillows, faded kilim fabrics, four-poster beds, and lacquered mini-bars crammed with everything.”

Rooms are available from £495 and bookings can be made directly on the hotel’s website.
