A crocodile zoo in Brize Norton is helping native bugs to thrive, and is encouraging others to follow their lead.

Crocodiles of the World has been planting wildflower seeds and constructed a bug hotel.

Clare Wilkie, a researcher at the zoo, said: "Conservation is always better together and so we’d love the help of our local community.

"By creating bug hotels in your own garden spaces, together we can create a much larger network that is dedicated to helping insects."

The zoo is inviting others to build their own bug hotels, using rotting wood and sticks, hollow bamboo canes, pinecones or smooth flat rocks.

Those who take part could win a free family ticket.
