Sir – It was a great idea planting vegetables and herbs in the flower beds and hanging baskets in the centre of Witney (Gazette, June 5).
It teaches children that their food does not grow in plastic bags on supermarket shelves.
As for myself, I look forward to collecting rocket seeds from plants that bolted.
