Sir – Paul Creighton (Letters, Sept 24) makes some very valid points regarding landowners and developers.
However, residents of Burford Road in Witney are not alone in feeling violated.
There are many villages in West Oxfordshire which are similarly threatened, where a proposed development is purely speculative and in no way sustainable.
We would welcome his support tomorrow at the district council development control committee’s meeting at Carterton Community Centre, when the decision will be taken on the proposal to build 700 houses in our parish of just 350 dwellings.
