Sir – Sainsbury’s and Waitrose might be big brand businesses but I wanted to write to acknowledge their local touch in West Oxfordshire.
The under-14 Witney Rugby Football Club boys’ team has been trying to raise funds for an international tour in 2015 and also to pay for additional kit and extra coaching hours.
We approached both supermarkets and offered bag-packing and carol-singing services.
The staff at both stores have been brilliant in supporting our cause and Waitrose offered us a bag-packing Saturday and Sainsbury’s offered a bag-packing day and a carol-singing slot.
I would like to acknowledge Jackie at Waitrose and Sarah at Sainsbury’s, if I may. Their support and that of their staff has been amazing and on, behalf of the team, thank you so much.
