Sir – It’s lovely to see a wonderful display of daffodils along Cogges Hill Road which were planted by local people who live on the Cogges estate last October.
It’s a great symbol of ownership over their community where they have decided to change its appearance to make it more cheerful and beautiful for y ears and hopefully generations to come.
I would urge other communities here in Witney to plan to do the same with their neighbours this autumn.
Not only will you bring neighbours out to get to know each other better, you’ll have a cracking display of colour next spring where you live!
Organising the planting day on Cogges was simple.
The daffodil bulbs were funded by West Oxfordshire District Council and a quick email to the lovely people at Cottsway, Witney Radio, UE Coffee and the local Tesco got us extra support!
This is your community, so feel free to work with your neighbours to put your mark on it.
So, how bright can we make Witney next spring?
