Tom Newey has been offered a new deal by Oxford United.
The left back was not able to attend meetings held with the club's out-of-contract players yesterday, but U's head coach Gary Waddock informed the former Bury, Rotherham and Scunthorpe defender this afternoon that he was part of his plans.
Waddock yesterday offered a new deal to leading scorer James Constable, activated a clause in skipper Jake Wright's contract to keep him at the Kassam Stadium for another year, but released Sean Rigg, Scott Davies and Deane Smalley.
Newey and Constable must now decide if they will accept the offers put to them.
