Former Chipping Norton junior and now Gloucester outside centre, Henry Purdy, brought words of praise from director of rugby David Humphreys after his try-scoring display in the 46-10 victory against London Welsh at the Kassam Stadium on Friday.
Making only his second Aviva Premiership start, Purdy, 20, from Milton-under-Wychwood, picked up his first try and Humphreys was delighted with his impact.
“Henry has come in and done very well,” he said. “With very little Premiership experience he’s come in, in a very tough position and I think he’s done great.
“Having Billy (Twelvetrees) and James (Hook) outside him has definitely helped and it’s the first step for him in what I hope is a very successful career.”
