A SUPER hat-trick from Hayley Dobson gave Witney Ladies a 4-1 victory away to Wallingford in South Clubs League Division 3A on Saturday.

Witney started strongly and after a lot of pressure they were awarded a penalty corner. Katie Oliver stopped for Hayley Dobson to slot home with a powerful sweep into the bottom left corner.

More slick passing from Marie Vincent and Sharon Hall sent Sunny Ricketts through and she put the ball into space for Dobson to make it 2-0.

From another penalty corner, Oliver offloaded to Dobson, who turned and scored with a reverse hit to complete her hat-trick.

Wallingford improved in the second half and pulled a goal back, but Witney had the final say through Ricketts, who flicked the ball across goal into the far corner.

Jacob Deacon scored twice as Witney returned to winning ways with a 5-2 victory at home to Thame in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1 of the Men’s South League.

Deacon gave Witney an early lead, then after James Gosnell hit a post, Rory Heaslip put them 2-1 ahead at half-time.

Witney lost Dan Wallis due to a green card, but once they were back to a full complement, they stretched their lead to 4-1 with further goals from Ben Moss and Alex Gray Thame pulled a goal back before Deacon got Witney’s fifth.

Witney 2nd lost 5-1 at West Hampstead 5th, their only goal coming from Mike Godwin, who opened the scoring, before the hosts took charge.

Joe Taylor scored a hat-trick but could not stop Witney 3rd going down 6-3 at home to Banbury Piranhas.
