ASHLEY Rump smashed the Charlbury club record score with a spectacular 196 not out in Charlbury’s 134-run victory at home to Radley.

On the opening day of the OCA campaign, Rump batted for 130 balls to help Charlbury post 274-7 in the Division 1 game.

The 30-year-old’s score, which included 24 runs from the final over, beat the previous record of 181 set by Glenn McCallum in 1993.

It was his eighth hundred in the league.

Radley never got close in reply, falling to 140 all out as Bimalka Liyanarachchi took 3-31.

Hanborough saw off hosts Kidlington by 48 runs.

The visitors managed 142-8 batting first as Dan Farrant (3-24) and Steve Litten (3-37) bowled tidily for Kidlington.

But Richard Brown then claimed 4-30 as Kidlington struggled to 94 all out.

Stanton Harcourt lost by eight wickets to Westcott.

In Division 9, Charlbury 3rd lost by ten runs at home to Deddington 2nd.
