CHIPPING Norton Under 11s missed out on appearing at the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final at Twickenham, but starlet Tom Wilson insists he experienced a memorable weekend nonetheless.

Chippy hoped to head to the home of English rugby on May 27, when they would have met a 2003 World Cup winner and take part in a half-time parade.

But despite a strong performance at the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup at Dean Close School in Cheltenham, they just missed out.

Wilson, 11, said: “We passed quite a lot, we communicated well, we rucked over very well to get the ball and passed it out to our wingers to score the tries.

“I play rugby for fun and enjoy playing a game that is wonderful.”

The tournament was organised by Gloucester Rugby and Chipping Norton were one of more than 30 teams who took part.
