Great & Little Tew are still seeking the win that will ensure their Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West status following a 76-run home defeat by Reading.
But Andy Harris’s side have a 35-point cushion over second-bottom Farnham Royal.
They were on the receiving end of a brilliant innings by Reading opener Praful Wag-hela, who made 153 off 139 balls with 23 fours and one six.
His sparkling knock took Reading to 302-7 from their 50 overs after they had been put in to bat.
Lloyd Brock was the pick of the home attack with 3-49.
After the early loss of Josh Megson, Harry Smith, with 60 off 100 balls, including eight fours, and Joe White, who made 59 off 68 balls, with nine fours and a six, gave Tew hope with a useful stand of 107.
But once they were parted, Tew were unable to keep up the momentum and eventually fell well short on 226-9.
Andrew Rishton (3-24) and Khalid Zafar Malik (3-40) led the way for Reading.
Great & Little Tew 6, Reading 25
