Minster Lovell’s youthful side gave defending champions Cowley Internationals a stern lesson as they romped to a 133-run victory in Saturday’s OCA League Division 1 opener.
Batting first at Wheatley, Minster posted a total of 216-6 as Ed Dunn hit 68 and Connor Tinsley 50 not out.
The total proved way beyond last year’s champions as they were skittled out for a paltry 83 in reply with George French returning magnificent figures of 5-12.
Stonesfield began their first ever season in the top flight with a four-wicket home win against Oxenford.
George Redknap’s 60-ball half century (51) and Tim Wyatt’s 48 led Stonesfield to 201-6 as they chased down Oxenford’s 199-8, for whom Arunvinay Prabakaran hit 58 not out.
Westbury romped to a 152- run win away to Chadlington after rattling up a formidable 259-5.
Paul Atkins led the way with 75, before Andy Clarke took 4-18 and Richard Tredwell 3-18 in Chadlington’s 107 all out.
Great Horwood’s 237-6 proved far beyond hosts Charlbury as they won by 93 runs.
Matt Thatcher top-scored with 73, and then Haydon Morrison took 4-21 to help dismiss the home side for 144.
In Division 2, Chipping Norton edged out hosts Broughton & North Newington by one run in another nail-biter.
They had been dismissed for 151 as Stuart Morgan took 5-38.
But it proved just enough as Broughton could manage only 150-9 in their reply for the narrowest of defeats.
Faringdon saw off Witney Swifts by 23 runs.
The home side posted 199-4 with Luke Bowerman (77no) and Nigel Hume (62) starring.
Nick Giles then claimed 3-22 to restrict Swifts to 176-7.
In Division 3, Matthew Neilsen (66) and Marc Buckingham (51) helped Hanborough to 191 all out at Cairns Fudge.
Steve Shaw took 6-24 for Fudge, who were then bowled out for 153, despite 68 from Andy Campbell and 56 from Tom Small, Martin Oliver taking 4-41.
Wootton & Boars Hill defeated hosts Eynsham by 97 runs.
