THE OCA Division 1 title race looks set to go down to the wire after the top two both won again.

Minster Lovell and Faringdon go head to head in two weeks’ time, but there is still little to separate them with just a handful of games remaining.

Second-placed Minster edged out fellow title hopefuls Shrivenham by one wicket with just four balls remaining.

The hosts set 222-8 as Oxfordshire Under 17 player Charan Chahal hit 98.

Chahal’s county teammate, Archie Spittles then scored 57 and Eddie Dunn 63 not out as Minster edged home at 224-9 in the final over.

Chipping Norton’s Dave Brassett scored 121 not out to help his side to only their second win – a 28-run success at home to Yarnton & Cowley.

Chippy racked up 258-3, thanks to Brassett’s knock, and then Rhys Warner-Carter claimed 5-43 as Yarnton fell for 230, Barbar Ishtiaq Raja hitting 79 and Ahmed Muaz 54 not out.

Charlbury fell to a 54-run defeat at Great Horwood.

Stuart Parker (87) helped Horwood to 203-3 in their 45 overs, and then Matthew McStraw claimed 4-36 as Charlbury were bowled out for 149, Graham Atkins hitting 66.

Oxenford duo Habeel Khalid (59no) and Vijay Pamu (59) shone as they posted 248-7 at home to Stonesfield.

Aaron Hirtenstein then returned 4-31 as the visitors were shot out for 123 in reply.

In Division 2, Chadlington were no match for Wolvercote, who went top with an eight-wicket win.

Barkat Ahmed (3-21) and Rhys Davies (3-22) combined to dismiss the hosts for just 103, and Wolvercote made light work of the target, racing to 106-2 as Tom Stewart-Liberty hit 42 not out.

Witney Swifts recorded an 82-run victory over Wootton & Boars Hill.

Josh Grant top-scored with 58 in Swifts’ 162-8, but the star of the show was Charlie Fisher.

He took 6-41 in 12 overs as Wootton were skittled for just 80.

Eynsham maintained their Division 3 title bid with a 45-run win at Kilkenny.

Led by Jimmy Rossiter (63), Eynsham posted 209-6, which was beyond the home side, who fell for 164 as Tom Prentice took 3-20.

Joel Graham’s century helped Stanton Harcourt to a 106-run win over Marcham.

Graham hit 122 out of Stanton’s 244-9, Stuart Armstrong claiming 4-34.

Ryan Wastie then claimed 5-22 and Andy Walker 3-27 as Marcham were shot out for 138, Armstrong hitting 50.

Martyn Oliver’s fine haul of 5-25 from 12 overs inspired Hanborough to a 42-run victory at Westcott.

Earlier, Rob Lovick’s patient 46 not out helped Hanborough to 180-9, Waqas Ur-Rehman taking 4-29.

Oliver then went nap to help dismiss Westcott for 138.

Swinbrook lost second place in Division 4 after falling to a 79-run defeat to Watlington.

Chris Allen’s 61 was the main contribution in Watlington’s 191 all out, Mark Reed taking 4-64 and Andrew Wingfield Digby 3-22.

Swinbrook got nowhere near the target, falling for 112 as Owen Lewis took 3-9, Charlie Fitchett 3-16 and Neil Maguire 3-25.

Bampton are now hot favourites for the Division 5 crown following their four-wicket win against visitors Hook Norton.

Simon Launder took 3-11 as Hooky were bowled out for 153, Melvyn Riley hitting 58.

Jake Payne (60no) then led the way in Bampton’s reply as they reached 154-6.

Charlbury 2nd suffered a 139-run loss at home to Kennington.

Graham Rowley and Ben Andre both hit 74 in Kennington’s 270-7, before Russell Vircavs claimed 4-26 as Charlbury were bowled out for 131.

Ducklington’s George Townsend took 6-11 as his side stayed top of Division 7 with a nine-wicket win at Hanborough 2nd.

Townsend’s haul helped to dismiss the home side for 78, before Jacob Hughes (43no) led Ducklington to 79-1.

Combe again proved far too strong for the opposition as they slammed hosts Stonesfield 2nd by nine wickets.

Jamie Burns’s 77 not out took Stonesfield to 174-6 in their 45 overs, but Combe made light work of the target, racing to 175-1 as Chris Moore hit 89 not out and Mark Westerby 81 not out.

Uffington 2nd beat visitors Kilkenny 2nd by 30 runs.

Cameron Welsh (77no) and Ollie Clarke (53) shone in Uffington’s 226-5, before Martin Taylor returned figures of 6-64 in Kilkenny’s 196 all out.

Kilkenny returned to winning ways on Sunday, seeing off hosts Witney Swifts 2nd by five wickets.
