THERE was high emotion at Stonesfield as they booked their place in the second round of the OCA League’s Airey Cup with an eight-wicket victory over Yarnton & Cowley.

A minute’s silence was observed in memory of club chairman Andy Crawford before the game – both teams wearing black arm bands as a mark of respect – and Stonefield dedicated the win to him.

Yarnton batted first and reached 30-0 inside four overs.

But a remarkable collapse saw them slump to 57-9 as Tom Gubbins (5-25) and Ali Malik (4-37) ripped through.

They were eventually all out for 91, and then George Redknap struck 49 not out to steer Stonesfield to 92-2 in a victory dedicated to Crawford.

Witney Swifts tasted defeat for the first time as they lost by six wickets to Oxenford.

George Seacole (86) and Tom Davies (36) helped Division 2 Swifts to 203-9, only for Roshan Gedara to hit 86 not out and Zain Iqbal 50 not out as Oxenford, from Division 1, eased to 204-4.

Chipping Norton hammered Marsh Gibbon by ten wickets.

Jim McGeown’s 5-25 helped dismiss the hosts for only 96, and Richard Ferley hit 62 not out as Chippy raced to 97-0.

Hanborough are in round two of the Telegraph Cup with a six-wicket win at West Ilsley.

Tom Weedon (3-21) and Jonathan Ayris (3-23) helped dismiss Ilsley for 144, before Joseph Burgess struck 46 not out to steer Hanborough to 145-4.

An outstanding bowling display from Jason Trinder helped Kilkenny to a six-wicket win at Marcham.

Trinder took 4-15 to restrict Marcham to 121 all out.

Josh Bishop (42no) starred as Kilkenny eased to 124-4.

Tetsworth beat Stanton Harcourt by 40 runs.

After being bowled out for 195, Andy Walker taking 5-44, Tetsworth dismissed their hosts for 155 as Sailesh Babu also claimed 5-44.

In the Osberton Radiators Cup, Stonesfield 2nd edged through with a thrilling one-wicket win at Westcott 2nd.

Westcott set 170 all out, Phil Bateman hitting 82 and Michael Franklin taking 4-30.

Stonesfield lost regular wickets, but edged to victory at 171-9.

Kilkenny saw off visitors Witney Swifts 2nd by three wickets.

Billy Carter produced a fine all-round display, taking 3-22 in Swifts’ 122 all out, before finishing unbeaten on 44 as Kilkenny reached 123-7.

Eynsham 2nd brushed aside visitors Middleton Cheney 2nd by 92 runs.

They racked up 236-5 in their 45 overs, Andy Bain hitting 59, Roland Margerison 47 and Ben Weller 40 not out.

Ben Cross struck 81 in Cheney’s reply, but Margerison and Weller each took 3-26 to dismiss the visitors for 144.

In the league, there was a tie at Ducklington, who finished level with visitors Hailey & West Witney in Division 5.

Ducklington were bowled out for 108 as Andy Green took 5-59.

But Kane Lewis (3-29) and George Townsend (3-49) ensured parity as Hailey were dismissed for exactly the same score.

Combe made it five wins from five with a seven-wicket triumph at Wolvercote 2nd.

In Division 6, half-centuries for Craig Woods (55) and Richard Walker (53) helped Kidlington 2nd to a 52-run win at Chipping Norton 2nd.

Kidlington posted 206 all out, Andrew Tompkins taking 5-27.

Tompkins then hit 34 not out in Chippy’s reply, but they fell to 154 all out.

Charlbury 2nd edged out visitors Oxenford 2nd by two wickets.

Dismissing Oxenford for 132, Charlbury were thankful to Jake Godfrey (56no) and Charlie Sinton (35) as they reached 133-8.

In Division 8 North, Charlbury 3rd eased to a seven-wicket win at Risinghurst 2nd as Abi Flory took 4-27 and Ayan Chakravartty hit 69 not out.

Chadlington 2nd ran out seven-wicket winners at Swinbrook 2nd.

Samuel Ratcliffe’s 5-33 helped to dismiss Swinbrook for 150, Richard Parker top-scoring with 57 not out.

Kev Duester then struck 70 not out as Chadlington eased in at 152-3.
