GREAT & Little Tew humbled Horspath’s strong side as the hosts collapsed in spectacular style for an eight-wicket thrashing in Division 1.

Left-arm spinner Joe Thomas (5-37) and medium pacer Andy Harris (4-22) sent third-placed Horspath reeling from 99-1 to 138 all out after they had been put in to bat by the visitors, who started the day second-bottom in the Home Counties Premier League.

The hosts, who included Pakistan overseas star Rameez Raja and former England Test paceman Ajmal Shahzad in tandem for the first time, lost eight wickets for just 20 runs.

Opener Tom Coleman hit 58, but after he and James Fitzjohn fell just before lunch it turned into a procession as Thomas and Harris polished off the home side after the break.

It was only a few lusty blows from tailender Jamil Faruq, who smashed 19 from 14 deliveries, that took Horspath on to their final total.

This was never likely to be enough.

And a second-wicket stand of 65 between captain Harry Smith (50) and Jordan Garrett (51no) steered Tew towards their target.

Lloyd Brock then joined Garrett in an unbroken third-wicket partnership of 59 to see the visitors home at 141-2.

Anupam Sanklecha and Scott Harris took five-wickets apiece as Shipton-under-Wychwood beat Great Brickhill by 26 runs in a low-scoring Division 2 clash.

A tenth-wicket stand of 53 between Shaun Miller and captain Charlie Brain also proved pivotal for the hosts as they recorded back-to-back wins.

Sanklecha continued his fine form when returning figures of 5-33, taking his wickets haul to 21 in his last three games.

Harris also starred with 5-43 as Brickhill were skittled for 82 after Shipton had earlier been dismissed for 108.

The west Oxon side were immediately in trouble at 4-3 after being put into bat.

Six more wickets fell for 51 runs as they were reeling on 55-9.

But Miller and Brain led the hosts into three-figures, before they were all out for 108.

Brickhill looked as though they would make light work of the total at 48-2, but up stepped Sanklecha and Harris.

The visitors lost eight wickets for 40 runs – the last four for 11 – as they were dismissed in 25 overs.
