MINSTER Lovell won the Division 4 title in their first Cherwell League season after a six-wicket win at Tiddington 2nd.
The hosts opted to bat first, but were restricted to just 120-8 in their 53 overs thanks to an excellent bowling and fielding display, led by Brian Barrett’s 3-28 in 16 economical overs.
And the west Oxfordshire side needed only 25 overs to reach the victory target as skipper Harry Ebsworth hit 47 and Ollie Mersh 31.
Stokenchurch were held to a draw by a battling Shipton-under-Wychwood 2nd, but still finish as runners-up.
Stokenchurch were bowled out for 216, leaving Shipton 62 overs to bat – and they just held on at 198-9, Anthony Prior-Wandesford finishing 31 not out.
Witney Mills leapfrogged Brackley into third with a two-wicket win.
Mills bowled their hosts out for 119 as Ollie Burney took 4-44 and Pierre Lefort 3-36 and crept home at 121-8.
Oxford Downs finished their Division 1 campaign on a high with a two-wicket win at home to Banbury 2nd.
Johnny Law took 5-71 to help to dismiss Banbury for 178 in the 37th over, giving Downs 63 overs to chase down the target.
And the Standlake-based club crept over the winning line with an over left at 181-1, Amin Rafiq scoring 42.
Great & Little Tew 2nd were relegated from Division 2 after losing to Challow & Childrey by eight wickets.
Tew were all out for just 125 and their rivals eased home in the 25th over.
Sandford St Martin were held to a draw by a resolute Didcot.
Ollie Ong (58no) and Paul Tanner (51) helped Sandford to 250-8 in their 53 overs, before Didcot finished on 174-8.
In Division 7, Minster Lovell 2nd wrapped up the second promotion spot with an excellent nine-wicket win at home to champions Horley 2nd.
Westbury 2nd were denied the second promotion spot by Witney Mills 2nd, who picked up enough points in a draw to secure survival from relegation.
Oxford Downs 3rd took the second promotion spot in Division 9.
