Chris Herbert saved a Martin Plumridge penalty as Carterton Town A edged into the last eight of the Oxfordshire John Fathers Shield with a narrow 2-1 home success against Chadlington.
Chris MacNeil fired Carterton ahead before Chadlington had a glorious chance to level from the spot after Plumridge was brought down.
But Herbert saved Plumridge’s spot-kick low down to his left.
After the break, Chadlington went 2-0 down via an own goal.
Although Richard Ingram pulled a goal back from close range after Plumridge had parried a Tom Cleevely shot, they could not find an equaliser.
Hanborough crashed out following a 3-0 home humbling by Carterton Rangers.
Dan Hall, James Barker and Chris Balfe were on target for the visitors.
