CHIPPING Norton’s Andy Carpenter secured the ACU National Endurance Championship at Cadwell Park with two rounds remaining.
The 48-year-old, along with teammate James Edwards, from Kent, guided Witney-based Team Go Racing Developments Endurance to victory by three seconds in Lincolnshire.
Carpenter said: “We have worked hard all year for the title.
“Racing is racing and we felt the win was the way to win the championship in style.”
Edwards took over for the final stint from Carpenter with a marginal lead and held on despite the efforts of KB Racing’s Jonathan Lodge.
The final two rounds are at Brands Hatch and Donington Park, with Seb Kelly joining the team as a third rider.
