GOLF: Burford missed out on a place in the Shaw Gibbs Oxfordshire Foursomes League KO Cup semi-finals after an eventful finish against Hadden Hill.
The Didcot club left it late after finishing level with hosts Burford.
Dom O’Rourke and Mick Partridge sealed Hadden Hill’s passage to the last four with victory in sudden death at the 19th hole.

Burford 1½, Hadden Hill 1½ – Hadden Hill win on sudden death (Burford scores first): J Wilks & R Connor bt L Fuller & M Grootz 3 & 2, A Ashbury & S Tanner lost to S Boffin & M Dowzell 2 & 1, S Hopkins & J Lally halved with Dom O’Rourke & M Partridge (won on extra hole).
BOWLS: Witney Mills fell in the semi-finals of the Hawker Cup to eventual winners Headington A.
Howard Watts’s rink triumphed 28-13 over Mills’s four of Roy Bull, Arthur Howard, Pete Wilson and John Mott.
And Mike Miles, Nick Andrew, Charlie Fisher and Chris Weller were convincingly beaten 23-9 by Ian Snowdon’s rink.
In the third place play-off, Mills lost 43-33 to Watlington.
Both of the South Oxfordshire side’s rinks produced five-shot victories as Bob Gilkes beat John Mott 21-16 and Shane Cooper triumphed 22-17 over Chris Wellar.
RUGBY UNION: Witney beat Old Tottonians 43-17 in pre-season.
FENCING: There are places available for people who fancy giving the sport a go.
Keith Money runs a club every Tuesday night (7pm) at Bradwell Village Hall, near Burford.
