KICKBOXING: India Mae Thompson’s strong form continued with a national title at Cardiff.

The Burford School pupil, who trains at Windrush Kickboxing in Witney came out on top in the under 13 open category at the WOMAA British Championships.

Thompson also took bronze in the under 14 age group.

ATHLETICS: Witney resident Steve Naylor secured victory at a blustery Eynsham 10k, clocking 31mins 24secs on Sunday.

Dan Blake, of Witney Road Runners was eighth in 34.37, while Woodstock’s Sophie Carter was the first female home in 23rd.

GYMNASTICS: Carterton Gymnastics Club’s Marjorie Scholes was crowned champion in the over 60s women’s artistic section – aged 76 – at the British Veterans Gymnastics Championships at Lilleshall.

Colin Rigby secured two national titles in the adult over 50 tumbling and over 50 men’s artistic gymnastics events.

Kate Dela won the British title for over 30 pro women’s artistic event.

HOCKEY: Witney drew 2-2 with Wycombe 2nd in MBB&O Division 1 thanks to Rory Heaslip converting a late short corner.

Andy Goznell had earlier given Witney the lead.

Sunny Ricketts scored twice but Witney Ladies were edged out 3-2 by South Clubs League Division 3A leaders Hampsted & Westminster.
