MOTORSPORT: Kevin Magnussen believes Renault can be among the points at Formula 1's Canadian Grand Prix this weekend after being left frustrated in Monaco.

Both Magnussen and his British teammate Jolyon Palmer were forced to retire after crashing out at the famous street circuit and the Dane is hoping to make amends for the Enstone-based team this weekend in Quebec.

"We did have potential to move forward and possibly get into the points so it was an opportunity missed," he said.

"It was frustrating after the contact so I prefer to look forward to Canada and beyond."

Magnussen added: "Hopefully we have more time to get the set-up dialled-in and make use of the upgrades for the car.

"If we have a good weekend certainly we want to be fighting for points."

Meanwhile, Chipping Norton-based Sean Walkinshaw Racing look to build on their best showing of the BRDC British Formula 3 season last weekend at Oulton Park as they head to Silverstone.
