ROBBIE Neilson felt aggrieved over an incident in the build-up to Oxford United’s winner against his Milton Keynes Dons side.
With two minutes remaining and the game goalless, referee Trevor Kettle played advantage for a shove on Rob Hall by George B Williams.
The U’s winger kept his feet, but when his cross was cleared the official went back to the original offence and awarded a free-kick.
Although the resulting set piece was half-cleared, Hall got the ball back and crossed for Kane Hemmings to head in the winning goal.
Neilson said: “It’s a very open law, that.
“The player went by him and in my opinion the advantage has been granted.
“He tries to pick out a pass in the second phase and the referee then decides to go back.
“I’m not going to bother speaking to him because it’s a waste of time.”
The Dons boss had been impressed after watching the U’s beat Swindon Town in their previous game and admitted after a promising start his side had struggled against Michael Appleton’s men.
He said: “Oxford are a team who know what they’re doing.
“They have lots of energy in midfield.
“We started well in the first ten minutes, but after then we found it quite difficult.”
