BENJI Buchel praised Oxford United’s back four as the goalkeeper’s impressive run in the side continued with another clean sheet.
The U’s were pushed as hard as they have been all season by a dangerous Dagenham & Redbridge, but came out 1-0 winners thanks to Kemar Roofe’s free-kick.
Buchel played a big role in the victory, making one excellent block on veteran goalscorer Jamie Cureton, on his way to a fourth clean sheet in six appearances.
The Liechtenstein international is yet to taste defeat with the U’s, but was keen to share the plaudits with those in front of him.
He said: “I think it’s for the whole team, right from the front two.
“We defended very well and we’ll take every clean sheet we can get.
“They are great defenders in front of me, it doesn’t matter which one.
“Every defender at the club is doing some great work and it’s a pleasure to play with them.”
While the 26-year-old is enjoying a good run of results since being given a spell in the side, there is one factor where he is hoping for an improvement.
He said: “I hope I can play a game without wind.
“I’m still waiting for it and it was freezing cold, but it doesn’t matter.
“I’m just looking game-by-game and try to give my best.”
